This page is where you'll find all our services to help you with your new puppy.
Whether you're a first time owner or a seasoned dog person we're here to help support you.
Suitable for pups 10-20wks. Here we will teach you how your pup thinks & learns. We will help guide you through the exciting yet sometimes daunting job of bringing up a puppy. Our classes cover a variety of topics all delivered using positive, science based training techniques to help your pup become a confident, friendly adult dog.
Part of the course takes place outdoors in the real world. We have great venues that offer fields, woods, beaches and more. If you and your dog want real life training and have a sense of adventure then these are the classes for you!
We are always looking for ways to make sure our classes give you the best results. During the pandemic having worked both online and in person we feel that a blended approach is the way to go. By starting in the home you and your pup will be off to a flying start and once we're outside with distractions galore you will feel much more confident in your puppy's listening skills.
Our courses run for 6wks.
Your first session will be via Zoom where we look at the theory side of training our dogs so you can understand how to get the best from them. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions and meet your class mates.
Then 2 group Zoom sessions to help lay really strong foundations before having the final 3 sessions outdoors.
You will find us at the following outdoor venues :-
Newhailes Estate, Musselburgh - Monday evenings (May - August)
Saturday mornings (September - March)
Yellowcraig Beach - Wednesday evenings ( May - August)
Sunday mornings (September - March)
These venues offer us real life training with real life distractions. You'll encounter all the things you do on your walks - other dogs, people, other animals, all weather conditions and all terrains.
If you would like to join us here's some need to know information
Please DO NOT book and pay for your course if your puppy will be older than 20wks at the start of the course. If your pup will be older than 20wks you can join us here.

Bringing a puppy into the family is a big decision. Being prepared will make things easier for everyone involved.
We offer a Pre puppy school online session. The session itself will last 60-90mins and we'll look at how to prepare for bringing puppy home, how to make sure everyone gets a good night's sleep, the best ways to deal with biting, toilet training, when to start training and more. You'll have a chance to ask questions throughout as well. After the session you'll receive the recording, slides and notes.
The session costs £40. Please email for further details or to arrange a session.
Did you know you can also pre book a space on one of our puppy courses? These courses fill quickly so by contacting us before you bring your puppy home you know you'll be starting off on the right foot.
Please email us to pre book your space.
Sometimes schedules make attending classes difficult so 121 sessions may be more suitable.
Since each puppy and family are different our puppy 121s are tailored so you get the most from our session. Each session includes follow up notes and email/phone support.
Please email to find out how we can help you or fill in the registration form
Our Zoom classes are just as interactive as our in person classes. All you have to do is position your device so we can see both you and your dog. You'll get real time feedback and help as we practice each of the exercises. You can also ask questions and chat with your class mates.
By starting your training where you and your dog are most comfortable you'll be successful. Distractions make it harder for your dog to follow instructions and learn. Making it easy at the beginning means you'll lay strong foundations for when you're in more distracting situations.
You'll receive videos a week in advance of your class to give you time to practice and you'll receive recordings of the online sessions. Even if you're unable to attend you'll still receive the course content. This means you won't miss out on anything. Please note there are no refunds for missed classes.
Our course runs for 6wks and costs £90. This includes your videos, recordings and notes. Plus phone/email support and access to our Facebook group.
Not every dog enjoys the company of other dogs and that's ok. Group classes should be fun for everyone involved. If you're dog is going to be upset in the company of other dogs it won't be their idea of fun. Drop us an email to see what alternative forms of training we can offer you and your dog.
To give you the confidence that your dog will listen to you when out on walks we try to keep the classes as real life as possible. This means we keep the class on the move as much as possible. We'll be walking around passing members of the public, their dogs, joggers, cyclists and more whilst practicing our training. Our venues offer lots of different areas to train - woods, fields, beaches & grass lands. Please note we do cover uneven ground at times. Plus we do train in typical Scottish weather!
