This page will give you all the information on the services available to help you with your dog. Whether you have a terrible teen or have welcomed an older dog to the family we will be here to support you.
For dogs 6mths & older. Need help with loose lead walking, recalls or keeping your dogs attention in distracting environments? Then this is the course for you. Everything is delivered to you in a fun & informative way.
Part of the course takes place outdoors in the real world. We have great venues that offer fields, woods, beaches and more. If you and your dog want real life training and have a sense of adventure then these are the classes for you!
We are always looking for ways to make sure our classes give you the best results. During the pandemic having worked both online and in person we feel that a blended approach is the way to go. By starting in the home you and your dog will be off to a flying start and once we're outside with distractions galore you will feel much more confident in your dog's listening skills.
Our courses run for 6wks.
Your first session will be via Zoom where we look at the theory side of training our dogs so you can understand how to get the best from them. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions and meet your class mates.
Then 2 group Zoom sessions to help lay really strong foundations before having the final 3 sessions outdoors.
You will find us at the following outdoor venues :-
Newhailes Estate, Musselburgh - Monday evenings (May - August)
Saturday mornings (September - March)
Yellowcraig Beach - Wednesday evenings ( May - August)
Sunday mornings (September - March)
These venues offer us real life training with real life distractions. You'll encounter all the things you do on your walks - other dogs, people, other animals, all weather conditions and all terrains.
If you would like to join us here's some need to know information
Please DO NOT book and pay for your course if your dog is uncomfortable in the company of dogs they don't know. We want everyone that attends group classes to enjoy them and walk away feeling that they have the best dog in the world.
If your dog is extremely nervous, barks/lunges excessively at other dogs or has previously caused injuries to another dog a group class won't be their idea of fun. Instead drop us an email and we can arrange an alternative way to help you and your dog.
Our outdoor sessions are limited to 1 person per dog.

These 2 issues are the most common reasons we are contacted for help.
To make sure you are successful we have designed intensive courses that focus on these topics.

Our Zoom classes are just as interactive as our in person classes. All you have to do is position your device so we can see both you and your dog. You'll get real time feedback and help as we practice each of the exercises. You can also ask questions and chat with your class mates.
By starting your training where you and your dog are most comfortable you'll be successful. Distractions make it harder for your dog to follow instructions and learn. Making it easy at the beginning means you'll lay strong foundations for when you're in more distracting situations.
You'll receive videos a week in advance of your class to give you time to practice and you'll receive recordings of the online sessions. Even if you're unable to attend you'll still receive the course content. This means you won't miss out on anything. Please note there are no refunds for missed classes.
Our course runs for 6wks and costs £90. This includes your videos, recordings and notes. Plus phone/email support and access to our Facebook group.
Not every dog enjoys the company of other dogs and that's ok. Group classes should be fun for everyone involved. If you're dog is going to be upset in the company of other dogs it won't be their idea of fun. Drop us an email to see what alternative forms of training we can offer you and your dog.
To give you the confidence that your dog will listen to you when out on walks we try to keep the classes as real life as possible. This means we keep the class on the move as much as possible. We'll be walking around passing members of the public, their dogs, joggers, cyclists and more whilst practicing our training. Our venues offer lots of different areas to train - woods, fields, beaches & grass lands. Please note we do cover uneven ground at times. Plus we do train in typical Scottish weather!
